Jubilee International Scholarly Conference
"150 Years at the Service of Science and Enlightenment"

Dear Colleagues,

The State Historical Public Library of Russia in collaboration with the State Historical Museum invites you to participate in the Jubilee International Scholarly Conference "150 Years at the Service of Science and Enlightenment", dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Chertkov Library, 75th anniversary of the "State Public Historical Library" and the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the State Historical Museum.

The Conference will take place on December 5-6, 2013 in Moscow (the location to be announced).

The conference covers the following range of topics:

• Alexander Dmitrievich Chertkov and the Chertkov Library
• The Historical Library in Russia's History And Culture
• The State Historical Museum and the State Public Historical Library: Interconnections and Cultural Oppositions
• Cultural Mission of the Bibliophilia
• Role of the Libraries in the Informational Support of the Science of History

The duration of the presentations is 15 minutes or less. The publication of the materials presented on the conference is coming. All expenses (transportation, accommodation, meals etc.) are the responsibility of the participants.

Applications are being accepted until September 30, 2013. The application must contain: family and given names, country, city, employing company, position, telephone number and address, including an email address. The theme of the presentation has to be followed by a  synopsis (up to 3 thousand characters). The organizational committee reserves the right to select the presentations on the basis of the relevance to the subjects of the conference.
